‘Morning Joe’: DC is ‘Scared to Death’ Over Trump Press Conference (Video)

“That would have been a really funny hour or so of television if he weren’t president of the United States,” Joe Scarborough says

“Morning Joe” co-hosts tore President Trump’s now-infamous press conference apart on Friday, with Joe Scarborough declaring it as “one of the most chaotic, rambling press conferences anybody has ever seen.”

“That would have been a really funny hour or so of television if he weren’t president of the United States,” Scarborough said. “Everybody I talked to on (Capitol) Hill, including a lot of Republican senators and congressmen, were scared to death by what they saw, and more than one said, ‘This just isn’t going to last long because he just doesn’t have control of reality.’”

Co-host Mika Brzezinski detailed her experience while the event was unfolding.

“Everybody was watching this news conference and if you weren’t watching the news conference, you texted someone that said, ‘ turn it on,’ and you turned it on because it was epic.”

“Time stood still,” she continued. “Our entire newsroom, we were trying to have a meeting, we kept rushing out because we kept hearing eruptions, of screams, laughter and freight,” she said.

Brzezinski added: “There is no humility, he has no curiosity — doesn’t even want to know about the issues. He doesn’t attempt to even grasp them and ultimately no humor. This is a guy I’ve never seen laugh.”

Washington Post reporter Eugene Robinson, a guest on the show, echoed her statements by calling the press conference “terrifying.”

“Imagine watching this in Berlin, imagine watching it in London, imagine watching it in Paris,” Robinson said. “You realize this is the man in the most important and most powerful job on earth… it’s almost unthinkable.”

Scarborough pointed out that at least one person enjoyed the press conference, Trump himself:
