‘Morning Joe’: Fox News, Russians Are Creating ‘Alternate Reality’ in America (Video)

Host Joe Scarborough says Fox News misleads American public on Russia probe

Joe Scarborough pushed back strongly against the narrative that elements of the FBI were involved in an anti-Trump secret society.

In a fiery moment on “Morning Joe” on Thursday, the MSNBC host showed polling which revealed a near-majority of Republicans didn’t approve of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Scarborough said it showed Fox News and the Russians were guilty of creating an “alternate reality” for Americans.

“It shows that Fox News and also the Russians continued attempts to impact social media. According to the most recent study. The Russian bots are working,” said Scarborough. “They’re creating an echo chamber, they’re creating an alternate reality.”

Mika Brzezinski came in from the sidelines to bemoan the “change” that has taken place at Fox News, but she stopped herself from any broader disquisition.

“And they have changed in the past two years, dramatically,” she said. “That network is very different network. It’s — yeah. I better just leave it there. Dramatic change.”

Fox News opinion hosts have been a bit feistier than usual of late — particularly on matters of Trump and Russia. Hosts like Sean Hannity and Lou Dobbs regularly inveigh against the so-called “deep state” and FBI plots to undermine Trump. Dobbs himself called for “war” during an episode of his program this week.

A spokesperson for Fox News did not immediately respond to request for comment from TheWrap.
