The panel on Monday’s “Morning Joe” ripped President Donald Trump for his continuous use of Twitter, with co-host Mika Brzezinski saying, “He can’t help himself.”
The MSNBC morning show played a clip of Senator Lindsey Graham saying it is frustrating to see the president continue to back himself into corners simply by tweeting, when he could be clear by remaining quiet.
“It’s really causing a problem for the presidency,” Brzezinski said.
Co-host Joe Scarborough said, “It’s also hurting him legally.” “Just be quiet and maybe this thing will blow over,” he said.
Scarborough added that while many Republicans don’t like Trump, they do like his policies and want them to pass.
“But they’re so frustrated, he just can’t be controlled and he can’t get out of his own way,” he said.
Scarborough said Trump should simply move on and focus on rebuilding the economy, but it’s not happening. He then played a clip of the president’s Rose Garden press conference where the president denied much of James Comey’s testimony last week.
“Keep your mouth shut. Grow jobs. Pass the tax bill,” Scarborough said.
