‘Morning Joe’ Praises Shepard Smith for Debunking Fox News’ Claims on Uranium One Deal (Video)

“Yesterday, one of Fox’s leading journalist, Shep Smith, took on the allegations and by extension his own network,” says Mika Brzezinski

“Morning Joe” offered some trollish praise onWednesday to Shepard Smith, the  longtime Fox News anchor who offered a systemic take-down on Tuesday of the Hillary Clinton Uranium 1 scandal that other organs of his network have obsessed over for weeks.

“Yesterday, one of Fox’s leading journalists, Shep Smith, took on the allegations and by extension his own network,” Mika Brzezinski crowed.

The show then proceeded to play Smith’s lengthy analysis, which he said debunked claims that Clinton had approved the deal which gave a Russian company control of large U.S. uranium stockpiles in exchange for donations to the Clinton Foundation — a quid pro quo.

“The accusation is predicated on the charge that Secretary Clinton approved the sale. She did not,” Smith concluded.

“A committee of nine evaluated the sale, the president approved the sale, the nuclear regulatory commission and others had to offer permits, and none of the uranium was exported for use by the U.S. to Russia,” he said.

Needless to say, Joe and Co. were over the moon.

“Boom,” said Scarborough. “Check. Mate.”

“You just want to applaud. Because that’s a guy doing his job,” concluded show regular, Mike Barnicle.
