‘Morning Joe’ Slams Melania Trump’s Cyberbullying Campaign: ‘She Needs to Call Out the President’

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski say she needs to take on the cyberbully living in the White House if she wants to be taken seriously

The set of “Morning Joe” called out Melania Trump over her self-professed advocacy against cyberbullying, saying that if the First Lady really wanted to lead on that issue she would have to take on her husband.

“She needs to call out the president,” said show co-host Joe Scarborough, Tuesday. “Her husband … actually implying that a New York senator would be willing to do sexual favors for campaign donations, and a thousand other attacks against women.”

Scarborough’s remarks refer to this controversy between Trump and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.

Show co-host Mika Brzezinski was even tougher.

“I think it is an insult to woman completely,” she said of the First Lady’s supposed advocacy. “Beyond comprehension at this point.” She also accused Melania and First Daughter Ivanka Trump of having “fake jobs.”

The First Lady’s advocacy against cyberbullying was in the news again last night after a media pool report revealed she brought up the matter during a meeting of governors at the White House Monday.

“As I have said before, it is important that as adults we take the lead and responsibility in helping our children manage the many issues they’re facing today,” she was quoted as saying, “This means encouraging positive habits on social media and technology.”

Melania Trump’s leadership on the issue has often been mocked given her husband’s brass knuckle approach to critics on social media. He has routinely attacked critics on Twitter, often employing schoolyard taunts like “crazy” “loser” “low IQ” “psycho” “low energy” and liddle.’

Trump also consistently refers to Elizabeth Warren — a sitting United States Senator — as Pocahontas.
