‘Morning Joe’ Counts Down Trump’s 5 Most Self-Destructive Tweets (Video)

“This is incredibly sad for our country that this is our president and these are his tweets,” Mika Brzezinski says

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” counted down the Top 5 most self-destructive tweets that President Trump has sent.

“This is tough,” co-host Mika Brzezinski said on Monday’s episode. “This is incredibly sad for our country that this is our president and these are his tweets.”

The tweets that the morning show considers self-destructive include when the president wrote, “I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Which Hunt,” and when he compared the United States intelligence community to Russia.

“That’s pretty bad because when you insult the intelligence community, they usually come back to bite you,” Brzezinski said.

Co-host Joe Scarborough pointed out when Trump called the intelligence community “very un-American.” He said the time Trump compared them to “McCarthyism” doesn’t qualify for the top five because the president wasn’t yet in office when he sent it.

Scarborough said Americans would look back years from now on the infamous tweet when Trump claimed President Obama had his “wires tapped.” Tweets referring to the executive order regarding a “travel ban” and threats to former FBI director James Comey were also featured in the segment.

The panel then took turns saying which one of Trump’s tweets are the most self-damaging. Last week, Brzezinski said Trump “can’t help himself” from tweeting.

“It’s really causing a problem for the presidency,” Brzezinski said.
