‘Morning Joe’ Calls Flynn Resignation ‘Troubling on a Deep, Global Level’ (Video)

“Flynn had a very, very, too-tight relationship with Donald Trump,” co-host Mika Brzezinski says

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski called the events that resulted in the resignation of National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn, “troubling on a deep, global level.”

Flynn’s departure was announced late Monday night following news he misled Vice President Mike Pence and other senior White House officials about information he shared with the Russian ambassador to the United States.

Co-host Joe Scarborough pointed out that Brzezinski once predicted Flynn wouldn’t last long in the job.

“I think this is good news for those who have been concerned that this White House has some people in it that are really not cut out for their jobs,” she said. “Flynn had a very, very, too-tight relationship with Donald Trump that also raised questions about his relationship with Russia, which still remains a big question.”

Scarborough said he has been warning Trump for months that he shouldn’t battle the intelligence community — a sign that he feels POTUS watches his show.

“They were warned a month ago and didn’t act on it,” Scarborough stressed, explaining that Flynn’s resignation wouldn’t have happened if a “patriot” didn’t leak information to the Washington Post.

“Was Mike Pence the only person in the White House kept in the dark? Because we certainly know the White House counsel had to know. You gotta believe the President of the United States had to know. Certainly the Justice Department knew,” Scarborough said. “There has to be a very long list of people in the White House who kept the vice president of the United States in the dark.”

Brzezinski responded, “It goes back to the central question, what is the relationship with Russia? There is something. It’s not nothing anymore.”
