Idris Elba, Taraji P. Henson Co-Starring in ‘No Good Deed’

The thriller centers on a former district attorney who is kidnapped

Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson will star in “No Good Deed,” Screen Gems said Friday.

The thriller centers on a former district attorney turned stay-at-home mom who is kidnapped along with her two children by a mysterious stranger.

Sam Miller will direct the film from a script by Aimee Lagos (“96 Minutes”).

Elba is best known for his portrayal of the drug dealer Stringer Bell in HBO’s “The Wire.” He has also appeared in the BBC series “Luther” and will co-star in the upcoming big-budget films “Prometheus” and “Pacific Rim.”

Henson was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

Miller previously worked with Elba on “Luther.”

Will Packer will produce through his Rainforest Films banner along with Lee Clay. Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Lindsey Williams, Elba, and Rob Hardy will executive produce. Principal photography of the project is set to start this April in Atlanta, Georgia.
