MTV Names TeenNick Executive to Key Role

Sarah Tomassi Lindman tapped to head program strategy for the network.

TeenNick general manager Sarah Tomassi Lindman is jumping to sister network MTV, where she’s been named executive vice president for program strategy.

Lindman replaces John MacDonald, who left the network earlier this year after two years on the job. She’ll be based in New York and will report to MTV General Manager Stephen Friedman and programming president Tony DiSanto.

As part of MTV’s senior programming team, Lindman will head up "all aspects of the programming business, including oversight of the linear television schedule and all cross platform digital video distribution," MTV said in its announcement.

“Sarah is a big picture, strategic thinker with a holistic approach to program planning and has a true understanding of what it takes to make quality television as well as how to deliver it to the right audience at the right time,” DiSanto said. “Her experience in acquisitions and the business of television makes her an invaluable asset to us as we continue to reinvent the network with new programming models and tactics in this digital age."

Lindman has been key to the growth of TeenNick (a k a the N), helping it become a top ten network among teens and overseeing its split from Noggin. She’s been part of MTV Networks since 1998.
