Cardi B and The Carters led the nominations for the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, which were announced Monday.

Cardi B drew the most nominations with 10, including “Video of the Year,” “Song of the Year” and “Artist of the Year,” for her collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Fitness (Remix).” The Carters — husband and wife duo Beyonce and Jay Z — scored eight nods, including “Video of the Year,” “Best Collaboration” and “Best Hip Hop” for their recent hit single “APES—.”

Childish Gambino and Drake each landed six nominations, while Bruno Mars earned five. MTV revealed the nominees on Instagram’s new long-form video platform, IGTV.

“It has already been a monumental year in music, and this year’s ‘VMAs’ will take things to a whole new level,” said Bruce Gillmer, head of music and music talent, global entertainment group, Viacom. “The extraordinary group of nominees have amazed us with their talent and inspired us with their creativity – and when you get them together for one night, anything is possible.”

The VMAs will take place on Monday, August 20 from Radio City Music Hall at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. This will be a record 12th time the venue has hosted the VMAs.
