MTV has quite the captivating offering coming up in the form of “Finding Carter,” a series about Carter (“Skins” alum Kathryn Prescott), a teenage girl who was abducted at age three and finds herself reunited with her long-lost blood relatives.
As a new trailer for the upcoming series reveals, Carter‘s relationship with her family is even more tense and awkward than it is for the average teenage girl. But what can you expect, when the grandpa who’s leaning in to hug you is little more than a creepy old dude to you?

“Finding Carter,” which also stars Cynthia Watros, Anna Jacoby-Heron, Alexis Denisof and Zac Pullam, premieres with back-to-back episodes July 8 at 10 p.m. Until then, watch the trailer below.
