‘Nader & Simin’ Wins Berlin’s Golden Bear

Film from Iranian director Asghar Farhadi sweeps festival’s best picture, actor and actress prizes

Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi's drama "Nader and Simin, A Separation" swept the big awards at the Berlin Film Festival Saturday, winning the Golden Bear for best film as well as Silver Bears for actor and actress.

The film follows the turmoil of an Iranian family amid the political chaos of Tehran.

Hungarian director Bela Tarr won the Silver Bear Jury Grand Prix for his drama "The Turnin Horse."

Joshua Marson and Andamion Marataj won screenplay honors for "The Forgiveness of Blood," while Ulrich Kohler won best director for "Sleeping Sickness."
