ABC is returning to the ice this November.
The network will air two figure skating specials on subsequent Sundays this Thanksgiving season, featuring many of the top U.S. names in the sport.
Disson Skating will produce the Colgate Skating Series, which will be hosted by Olympic Champion and “Dancing with the Stars” winner Kristi Yamaguchi and three-time U.S. National Champion Michael Weiss.
The specials will feature skaters including Meryl Davis and Charlie White, Brian Boitano, Nancy Kerrigan, and Evan Lysacek, and performances by musicians Amy Grant, Lou Gramm (the “Voice of Foreigner”) and Paul Rodgers of Bad Company.
Each two-hour special will feature world-renowned Olympic figure skating champions and musicians, along with the skaters’ families, Olympic gymnasts and dancing professionals. The show will be the first of a multi-year agreement between Disson Skating (and producer Steve Gisson) and ABC, it also marks the return of figure skating to the network, which has a long history airing the sport.
