Naomi Watts Uses ‘Tequila’ to Get Out of Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel Questions (Video)

Right, the song — not the liquor

If you thought the “Game of Thrones” stars were the experts in dodging questions about a top secret series, then you haven’t yet seen Naomi Watts sidestepping questions about leading the cast of the untitled “GoT” prequel pilot.

On Wednesday’s “Tonight Show,” host Jimmy Fallon asked the actress if she’s allowed to say anything at all about the project, to which she said, “No, definitely, um — tequila, tequila, tequila!”

Then Fallon’s house band, The Roots, took off performing The Champs’ infamous “Tequila” while Naomi and Jimmy got up to dance as a distraction from the intrusive line of questioning.

Oh, we should mention here that it was National Tequila Day and this bit about saying “tequila” three times triggering The Roots’ very specific song selection began earlier in the episode.

Though Watts may not have been allowed to say anything about the prequel, which is written by “A Song of Ice and Fire” author George R.R. Martin and “Kingsman” writer Jane Goodman, HBO programming president Casey Bloys told reporters during the Television Critics Association press tour Wednesday that production has wrapped on the pilot.

He later told TheWrap the pay-TV channel has one or two more “GoT” spinoff scripts it is “possibly” considering ordering to pilot. “But we’re gonna see what happens with this one,” Bloys said.

Now, Jimmy, go get Naomi a shot, since she definitely thought that whole dance actually ended with some tequila.
