‘One Life to Live’ Star Critically Injured in Car Accident

Nathaniel Marston, 40, could be paralyzed as a result of injuries from accident near Reno, Nev., on night of Oct. 30

Nathaniel Marston, an actor best known for his six-year stint on the ABC soap opera “One Life to Live,” was involved in a serious car accident on October 30 near Reno, Nevada, that may leave him paralyzed from the neck down, according to his mother Elizabeth Jackson’s Facebook page.

“Please pray for my son Nathaniel Marston,” Jackson wrote on Saturday of her 40-year-old son. “He was in a car accident last night and is in the intensive care on life support. Back and neck broken in several places. Other internal injuries. Please pray that he will recover and walk again.”

In an update on early Sunday morning, Jackson reported that his doctors had told her “In all likely hood if he lives he will be paralyzed from the neck down and will not breathe without a ventilator machine.”

In an earlier update on Saturday, Jackson indicated that Marston had suffered a broken neck and shoulder, a collapsed lung, and fractured neck vertebrae.

She also says that she spoke with local police and that Marston was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. “Just spoke to highway patrol and tribal police. .In case rumor mill gets going. Nate was sober according to cops,” she wrote.

Marston played Eddie Silva on “As the World Turns,” earning a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination as Outstanding Male Newcomer. He picked up another nomination for his role as Michael McBain on “One Life to Live.” He left the soap in 2007.
