Nathaniel Marston Remembered: Co-Stars and Colleagues Pay Tribute to Dead ‘One Life to Live’ Star

Actor died at age 40 after suffering injuries in car accident

Former “One Life to Live” star Nathaniel Marston died on Wednesday at age 40, less that two weeks after being injured in a Nevada car crash. As the sad news sinks in, Marston’s former co-stars and colleagues are flooding social media with expressions of their grief.

“I remember the love and warmth my former OLTL co-star showed me. Sending prayers to Nathaniel Marston’s family. RIP,” Tika Sumpter, who played Layla Williamson on the soap opera, wrote.

“This is incredibly sad… Life is fragile. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of #NathanielMarston RIP,” The Young and the Restless” and “General Hospital” actress Michelle Stafford added.

“My friend Nathaniel Marston will be missed, our memories together will never die! RIP my Brother,” Sean Ringgold, known to “One Life to Live” fans as Shaun Evans, wrote.

“SAD NEWS Nathaniel Marston has died of injuries sustained in a car crash. A talented actor, I wish his personal story ended differently- RIP,” “One Life to Live” alum Robin Strasser tweeted.

The accident, which occurred after Marston’s truck drifted across lanes, landed in a dirt shoulder and overturned multiple times, left the actor with back injuries and a neck broken in several places, as well as other injuries.

Marston underwent surgery on Nov. 4, but it didn’t go as planned, and his mother, Elizabeth Jackson, said that her son would most likely live out the rest of his life as a paraplegic.

Announcing her son’s death Wednesday, Jackson wrote, “My beloved and cherished son, Nathaniel Marston, who was putting up the good fight until last night was not able to continue due to the traumatic and devastating nature of his injuries.”
