NBC Entertainment has named Cara Dellaverson senior vice president of drama development, the company announced Thursday.

“We are excited that Cara will be contributing her amazing talent for developing compelling drama to NBC,” said NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke in a statement. “Cara’s knack for finding fresh and unique stories that resonate with audiences is evident through her success with series such as ‘Nashville’ and ‘Orange Is the New Black,’ and we are thrilled that she will be bringing that passion to NBC.”

Most recently Dellaverson served as SVP of television development and current programming at Lionsgate, where she oversaw the launch of ABC’s “Nashville” and Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black.”

Dellaverson will report to Pearlena Igbokwe, EVP of drama development at NBC.

The exec was previously in unscripted television, and produced such shows as “Date My Mom” and “Next” for MTV.
