NBC has ordered four new comedy pilots, including one based in the DC comics universe and another starring Marlon Wayans.

“Powerless” is a single-camera office comedy set in the DC Comics universe, following the lives of the average employees at an insurance company and their quest to find their own power. Ben Queen is writing and executive producing the pilot with Michael Patrick Jann directing and executive producing.

“Marlon” is a muti-camera comedy loosely based on the life of Marlon Wayans. It centers on an inappropriate but loving father (Wayans) committed to successfully co-parenting with his polar opposite ex-wife. Chris Moynihan is writing the series, in addition to executive producing along with Rick Alvarez and Michael Rotenberg.

Tracey Wigfield also scored a pilot order for her untitled single-camera comedy, which follows an already inseparable mother/daughter relationship that becomes more complicated when the mom accepts an internship at her daughter’s workplace. Wigfield is writing and executive producing the show, along with Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and David Miner.

Finally, Matt Hubbard will executive produce and write a series loosely based on his own life. It follows a man learning to manage the expectations and strong cultural traditions of his in-laws after he moves his family to his wife’s hometown. Mike Schur and David Miner will also executive produce.

Wayans, Wigfield and Hubbard’s projects are all produced by Universal Television and 3Arts Entertainment. Little Strange will also produce Wigfield’s pilot while Wayans’ Wayans Brothers Entertainment will produce his. Warner Bros. Television will produce “Powerless.”
