NBCU Promotes Hilary Smith to SVP, Communications

Replacing Cameron Blanchard, Hilary Smith will oversee communications for NBCU properties such as Telemundo, Bravo Media and Fandango

Hilary Smith has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Communications for NBC Universal's entertainment & digital networks and integrated media division, NBCU said Monday.

In her new capacity, Smith will oversee communications and serve as spokesperson for the division, which includes such properties as Telemundo, Bravo Media, Oxygen Media, Fandango, DailyCandy and Television Without Pity, among others.

Smith, who will report directly to division chairman Lauren Zalaznick, previously oversaw communications for the division's digital business. She will replace Cameron Blanchard, who was recently promoted to SVP of Corporate Communications for NBC Universal.

"Hilary is an extraordinary communicator who brings immense creativity and strategic thinking to this role," Zalaznick said. "She has been a valuable member of my organization for the last several years, proven to be especially talented when it comes to leading communications across a portfolio of businesses, and is ideally suited for this role."

Smith, a 14-year veteran of NBC Universal, has also served as press manager of CBS News, where she was responsible for publicizing "48 Hours," "CBS News Sunday Morning" and "CBS News Saturday Morning."
