Ratings: CBS’ NCAA Tournament Rejects All Sunday Competition

“Little Big Shots” leads NBC to second place

CBS topped Sunday by virtue of an NCAA Tournament game leaking into primetime, which means NBC settled for second place.

The Les Moonves-led broadcaster finished first in ratings with a 1.4 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 8.9 million, according to preliminary numbers.

Following the network’s Kansas University win over Michigan State, “60 Minutes” at 7:30 p.m. posted a 1.8/7 and 10.3 million viewers. The conclusion at 8 landed a 1.5/5 and 10.9 million viewers. From 8:30-9:30, “NCIS: Los Angeles” averaged a 1.2/4 and 9 million viewers. “Madam Secretary” over the next hour had a 0.8/3 and 7.2 million viewers. The last half-hour of prime went to “Elementary,” which got a 0.6/2 and 4.6 million viewers.

NBC was second in ratings with a 1.0/3 and in viewers with 6 million. Following a rerun, “Little Big Shots” at 8 earned a 1.5/5 and 9.3 million viewers. At 9, “Chicago Justice” put up a 1.0/3 and 5.7 million viewers. “Shades of Blue” at 10 received a 0.8/3 and 4.1 million viewers.

Fox was third in ratings with a 0.8/3 and fourth in viewers with 2.1 million. After a repeat, “Bob’s Burgers” at 7:30 had a 0.8/3 and 2 million viewers. At 8, “The Simpsons” got a 1.0/4 and 2.3 million viewers. “Making History” at 8:30 managed a 0.7/2 and 1.6 million viewers. At 9, “Family Guy” garnered a 1.1/4 and 2.4 million viewers. “The Last Man on Earth” at 9:30 received a 0.8/2 and 1.9 million viewers.

ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and third in viewers with 2.8 million. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at 7 had a 0.9/4 and 4.8 million viewers. At 8, “Once Upon a Time” got a 0.8/3 and 2.7 million viewers. At 9, “Time After Time” received a 0.4/1 and 1.8 million viewers. “American Crime” at 10 managed a 0.4/2 and 1.9 million viewers.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.3 million.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 967,000.

The CW does not program nationally on Sundays.
