Marvel’s “Luke Cage” will debut on Netflix Friday, Sept. 30.
Series star Mike Colter revealed the news at the “Daredevil” Season 2 premiere Thursday night.
Colter originated the role of Luke Cage on the latest Marvel/Netflix series, “Jessica Jones,” starring Krysten Ritter, which dropped in November.
The two shows followed “Daredevil,” starring Charlie Cox, which launched this particular corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “Daredevil” Season 2 will premiere on March 18.
“Luke Cage” will be followed by “Iron Fist,” which recently cast “Game of Thrones” star Finn Jones in the lead role. The four heroes will then team up for “The Defenders.”
Cheo Hodari Coker will write the first two episodes of “Luke Cage” in addition to serving as showrunner and executive producer.
“Marvel’s Luke Cage” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
In the video below, Colter reveals the premiere date at around the 2 minute mark.
