Jack’s not coming back.

Fox has ordered a pilot for “24: Legacy,” but the project does not feature Kiefer Sutherland starring as Jack Bauer, the hero of the “24” franchise. He most recently appeared in the limited series “24: Live Another Day,” which aired in 2014. Howard Gordon, Brian Grazer, Manny Coto and Evan Katz will serve as executive producers on the new project.

The new project, if it goes to series, will follow the real-time structure of the original action drama, in which each episode is one hour in the course of a day.

“Prison Break,” however, will get its old leads back: a “Prison Break event series will feature original starts Wentworth Miller and Dominic  Purcell, as well as original executive producers Paul T. Scheuring, Neal   Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead.

Fox announced in August that it was developing a reboot of drama series “Prison Break,” which ran for four seasons and ended in 2009.

Both projects are being produced by 20th Century Fox Television. Imagine Entertainment is also producing “24: Legacy.”
