‘New Girl’ Star Lamorne Morris Digs up Fox Comedy’s Best Easter Eggs for Superfans (Exclusive Video)

Have you ever noticed that mural in Winston’s room features an alien’s mouth that looks like “an a–hole”? Oh, sorry

“New Girl” launches its final new season tonight with a premiere that picks up approximately three years after last year’s finale. Of course, before the seventh installment’s first episode even airs, TheWrap tried to get star Lamorne Morris to reveal some new stuff about the Fox sitcom when he sat down with us for a recent interview.

And while the actor, who plays Winston Bishop, didn’t give away any spoilers, he happily offered up some of the best Easter eggs that even superfans of the Zooey Deschanel comedy may have missed over the past six seasons.

Morris said throughout every episode up until about season six there were a set of glass grapes in the group’s Los Angeles apartment “that just sit there.”

“They have no purpose whatsoever in our loft, but they’re always there,” Morris said. “And if you pay attention, there always there. And I know for a fact that somebody is paying attention because someone sent me a direct message, I forget who the person is, but they said, ‘Hey when you guys are done can I get those glass grapes?’”

“And funny enough, we were allowed to take certain things from set when we wrapped,” Morris continued. “I wanted the glass grapes, but [creator and showrunner] Liz Meriwether wanted the glass grapes. So, obviously, she gets the glass grapes.”

You know what the actor did get to take home, though? A mural from his character’s room, which features the mouth of an alien that looks like “an a–hole.” Oh, and a basketball hoop.

The final season of “New Girl” premieres tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
