New Twist in Palin vs. ‘Family Guy’ Saga

Here’s something the former governor might not have thought about when she launched her attack on the Fox toon

Sarah Palin can’t stop attacking "Family Guy," but maybe this bit of news from the New York Times will make her rethink her critiques.

It turns out the actress who voiced the teen girl with Down syndrome on Sunday’s show — the one who said her mom was the ex- governor of Alaska — has Down syndrome herself.

And she, like most of the reasonable world, wants Palin to back off.

"I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor," actress Andrea Fey Friedman wrote the Times. "I thought the line… was very funny. I think the word is ‘sarcasm.’ In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life."

In an interview with the Times, Friedman dismisses Palin’s contention that she and "Family Guy" were mocking her son.

When she heard Palin’s attack, "I’m like, “I’m not Trig. This is my life,’" Friedman said. "I was making fun of Sarah Palin, but not her son.
