If you haven’t had a chance to catch Disney’s Tony Award-winning stage show “Newsies,” the production will be landing in movie theaters early next year.

The filmed performance will star Jeremy Jordan, reprising his Tony Award-nominated performance as Jack Kelly, Disney Theatrical Productions and Fathom Events announced Wednesday.

Jordan will be joined on stage by other original Broadway cast members: Kara Lindsay as Katherine, Ben Fankhauser as Davey and Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Crutchie. They will be joined by North American tour stars Steve Blanchard, who plays Joseph Pulitzer, and Aisha de Haas as Medda Larkin.

Other players from both the Broadway show and North American tour ensemble will also return to fill the stage with more “newsies” and more dancing.

The performance will be recorded on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood in front of an invited audience.

Tickets for the movie theater release will go on sale later this year.

“Newsies” is based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899 — which also inspired the 1992 Disney film that has gained a cult following over the years.

The show revolves around a newsboy who leads a rough-and-tumble team of fellow teenaged “newsies” in their pursuit to overcome obstacles set by publishing giants Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst.
