‘Batman v. Superman’ Movie Gets a Title: ‘Dawn of Justice’

Guess which movie is next?

Warner Bros. has bestowed a title upon its “Batman v. Superman” movie, “Dawn of Justice,” that leaves no room for guessing what comes next: “The Justice League.”

Warner Bros. has been plotting a Justice League movie since before it revamped its Superman franchise with “Man of Steel,” and the success of that movie affirmed that it could proceed with several more movies based on DC comics after several stops and starts (see The Lantern, Green).

Zack Snyder, who directed “Man of Steel,” will also direct “Dawn of Justice” and “The Justice League.” Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman while Ben Affleck joins the fold as Batman. Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman, one of several characters that indicated Warner Bros. was making a Justice League movie before it officially announced its plans in late April.

Written by “Argo” scribe Chris Terrio, “Dawn of Justice” has entered production and will shoot on location in Detroit, Illinois, Africa and the South Pacific. Warner Bros. still plans to release the film May 6, 2016, the same day Disney and Marvel have scheduled the third “Captain America” movie.
