Music heartthrob and indie actor Nick Jonas is looking to roll the dice on Sony Pictures’ remake of the beloved Robin Williams film “Jumanji.”

Jonas is in early talks to join a cast that includes Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart, an individual familiar with negotiations told TheWrap.

Jake Kasdan will direct the adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg’s book, with Matt Tolmach on board to produce.

Jonas was recurring a guest star on Ryan Murphy‘s “Scream Queens” on Fox. He’s currently starring in the indie thriller “Careful What You Wish For” and next appears in the buzzy hazing film “Goat” from MTV Films.

The original 1995 “Jumanji,” about a mystic board game that comes to life and wreaks havoc, starred Williams and a young Kirsten Dunst. It grossed over $250 million worldwide.

In an Instagram post, Johnson spoke at length about honoring Williams and the original.

“The love and respect I have for this man is boundless. You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of ‘Alan Parrish’ will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of ‘Jumanji’ in an earnest and cool way,” the actor wrote.

“I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud.”

Jonas is currently on the Honda Civic Tour with Demi Lovato. News of the “Jumanji” discussions was first reported by Deadline.
