Nick Jonas has joined the cast of Doug Liman’s post-apocalyptic thriller “Chaos Walking,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

The film, based on the YA novel by Patrick Ness, also stars Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley, Mads Mikkelsen, Demian Bichir and Kurt Sutter. The script was adapted by Charlie Kaufman, Ness, Lindsey Beer, Gary Spinelli and John Lee Hancock. Allison Shearmur, Erwin Stoff and Doug Davison are producing.

“Chaos Waking” is a dystopian trilogy about a world where all thoughts are visible in a stream of projected sounds and images called “The Noise.” It features a male and female protagonist as leads, bracing for a planetary war.

Jonas most recently starred in the Sundance hit “Goat” and will next be seen in “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” alongside Jack Black and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He is also a Grammy-nominated singer and his third solo album, “Last Year Was Complicated,” was released last June.
