Nick Jonas Rides In to Save the Day in Latest ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ Trailer (Video)

Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart return to the jungle on Dec. 13

Among the newcomers to the cast in the sequel “Jumanji: The Next Level” are Danny Glover, Danny DeVito, Awkwafina and Nick Jonas, and the pop star made his debut in this final trailer released Thursday.

The original team of four friends as seen in “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” have been separated and put into different avatars than in the previous film. But as they’re looking for their friend Bethany, who should come to the rescue but Nick Jonas riding on an elegant black steed. Only problem is, that’s Bethany.

“She says, oh my God, like I’m a total horse,” Kevin Hart says in the trailer.

The new cast joins Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan all returning to the sequel. Only this time they’ve swapped roles and now find themselves in the middle of the desert fighting for their survival rather than strictly the jungle. We see in this latest look as they’re escaping from hordes of baboons, a stampede of ostriches and Black about to get eaten by a giant snake.

Jonas by the way is really getting in on the acting game. He’s also set to appear in the war epic “Midway” later this fall, and he’ll be seen in the sci-fi “Chaos Walking” with Tom Holland next year.

“Jumanji: The Next Level” is directed by Jake Kasdan and written Kasdan, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. The Sony Pictures film opens in theaters on Dec. 13. Watch the new and final trailer for the film above.
