Move over, Janet Jackson's nipple; there's a new beacon of outrage for the finger-waggers of the world to hyperventilate over now.

ABC was forced to issue an apology this morning after Nicki Minaj's performance at "Good Morning America's" Summer Concert Series featured a surprise guest appearance from the singer's nipple.

Minaj was performing her hit "Moment 4 Life" in a low-cut top when the pop-out moment occurred.

Before you could say "nip slip," professional scolds the Parents Television Council jumped into action, expressing their disapproval via a message from the organization's president, Tim Winter.

“For the umpteenth time in recent memory we have a morning news broadcast airing explicit content when millions of families are starting their day and are looking to get caught up on the news," Winter huffed. "With so many such instances, the network apologies are beyond hollow. Today we call upon the executive producers of the 'Today Show,' 'Good Morning America' and the CBS Morning News programs to meet together and establish best practices to prevent these sucker-punch moments."

As it turns out, ABC did have a system in place to prevent such unfortunate flesh-flashes. It just, uh, didn't work.

"Although we had a five-second delay in place for the Nicki Minaj concert on 'GMA,' the live East Coast feed of the concert regrettably included certain fleeting images of the performer that were taken out of later feeds of the broadcast in other time zones," ABC said in a statement. "We are sorry that this occurred."

Well, that's settled — sort of. Now perhaps the PTC could establish a five-second delay before flying off the handle at the slightest, fleeting hint of flesh.
