Nickolodeon to Release ‘iCarly’ Movie

“iQuit iCarly” centers on rift that endangers Carly’s popular web show.

Nickelodeon announced Monday that it will air a made-for-TV movie spinoff of its hit series "iCarly" on Dec. 5.

Entitled "iQuit iCarly," the movie will center on a rift between "iCarly"’s two main characters, Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) and Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy), that endangers both their friendship and their popular web show.

To accompany the on-air premiere, Nickelodeon is allowing fans to cast their votes at Nick.com for their favorite Carly and Sam "friendship" episodes. The top six episodes chosen will air during the three-hour marathon leading up to the premiere of “iQuit iCarly.”

The site also will host an "iQuit iCarly" game beginning on Nov. 30.

In addition to Cosgrove and McCurdy, the "iCarly" movie stars Nathan Kress as Freddie and Jerry Trainor as Spencer.

“iQuit iCarly” was written by Dan Schneider and directed by Steve Hoefer. Schneider is the creator and executive producer of the series.

Year-to-date, "iCarly" ranks as television’s No. 1 program among kids 2 to 11.
