‘Nightflyers’ Trailer: Crew Gets Picked Off One By One on George RR Martin Syfy Thriller (Video)

San Diego Comic-Con 2018: “There’s something wrong with this ship” — yeah, no kidding

Good news: the Nightflyer crew is here to save humanity. Bad news: “their only chance” is apparently a death trap in the first official trailer for George R.R. Martin’s new Syfy horror-thriller series, “Nightflyers.”

Today, the cable network debuted the never-before-seen video during the upcoming series’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Stars Eoin Macken, Gretchen Mol, David Ajala, Jodie Turner-Smith and Angus Sampson all took the stage for a Q&A to kick off the show’s voyage, alongside executive producer/showrunner Jeff Buhler and executive producers Gene Klein and David Bartis.

In the clip, we see Karl D’Branin (Macken) leave his family and home planet to lead the Nightflyer crew on a mission to save the people of Earth. Everyone is excited to be come aboard — until they start to get picked off one by one by some unknown presence on their spaceship.

Here’s the official logline for “Nightflyers,” per Syfy: Set in the year 2093, “Nightflyers” is a psychological thriller that follows a team of scientists aboard the Nightflyer, the most advanced ship ever built, as they embark on a journey to find other life forms. Their mission takes them to the edge of the solar system, and to the edge of insanity, as they realize true horror isn’t waiting for them in outer space–it’s already on their ship.
