In yet another attempt by the mainstream media to capitalize on the Twitter phenomenon, ABC News’ "Nightline," is launching a half-hour web show titled NightTline which will utilize the new technology.

Show anchor Terry Moran will pull up Tweets from viewers on a touch screen in real time, allowing the program’s 400,000 followers to interact with panelists by directly asking the questions online.

“Nightline has been a pioneer in its embrace of Twitter,” James Goldston, Nightline’s Executive Producer, said in a Broadcasting & Cable report. “This new collaboration provides an ideal venue for news and Twitter enthusiasts alike.”

NightTline is slated to debut this Wednesday, May 13 at 12:30 p.m.

The first episode of the show will include panelists Andrew McCarthy, former U.S. Attorney, and former Air Force interrogator Matthew Alexander debating the subject of political torture.
