Nirvana Reunites With Lorde, Joan Jett for Kurt Cobain Covers (Video)

The surviving members of the grunge band were also fronted by Kim Gordon and St. Vincent in its four-song Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction set

Nirvana reunited — as much as it could — to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday night at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center.

The surviving members of the legendary ’90s band were joined by Lorde, Joan Jet, Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and St. Vincent of the Polyphonic Spree, each who did their best Kurt Cobain impressions during the four-song set.

Lorde sang “All Apologies, Jett did “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” Gordon tried her hand at “Aneurysm” and St. Vincent performed “Lithium,” all with bassist Krist Novoselic, drummer Dave Grohl and guitarist Pat Smear.

The band was inducted into the Hall by R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe.

Also inducted in the 2014 performers class were Hall & Oates, Kiss, Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt and Cat Stevens. This year’s Ahmet Ertegun Awards went to Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham. Bruce Springsteen’s group, The E Street Band, accepted the Award for Musical Excellence.
