The New York Police Department is opening an investigation into Harvey Weinstein following recent reports detailing sexual misconduct allegations.

“Based on information referenced in published news reports the NYPD is conducting a review to determine if there are any additional complaints relating to the Harvey Weinstein matter,” Lieutenant John Grimpel said in a statement to TheWrap. “No filed complaints have been identified as of this time and as always, the NYPD encourages anyone who may have information pertaining to this matter to call the CrimeStoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.”

Last Thursday, The New York Times published an article detailing decades of sexual harassment allegations including accusations that he propositioned actresses and harassed female employees.

More ugly stories continued to dribble out over the weekend, including a vulgar report by a news anchor that Weinstein masturbated in front of her and other stories of inappropriate propositions.

Then, the New Yorker published another expose in which three women accused the movie mogul of sexual assault. Journalist Ronan Farrow wrote that he spoke with 13 women who detailed various levels of sexual assault by Weinstein over a roughly 20-year period.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office had previously investigated the producer in 2015, after Ambra Battilana Gutierrez claimed Weinstein had touched her breasts and put his hand up her skirt without her consent. Ultimately, District Attorney Cyrus Vance decided not to press charges.

The Weinstein Company, which Weinstein co-founded with his brother, Bob Weinstein, has since fired him.
