"The Office" will close up for good on May 16 with a one-hour finale, the network said Thursday.
The finale, which airs at 9 p.m., will also mark the comedy's 200th episode.
The series is currently in its ninth and final season.
Series creator Greg Daniels said at the Television Critics Association gathering last month that Steve Carell, who played bumbling boss Michael Scott for most of the series' run, most likely won't be on hand to close out the show.
"Steve is very much of the opinion that the 'goodbye Michael' episode and the story arc that we did leading up to it was his goodbye to the fans and to the show, and that the stuff we're doing this season is the goodbye that the rest of the show gets to have,"Daniels said.
