Omarosa Secretly Recorded Multiple Conversations With Trump (Report)

Several people told the Daily Beast that they have heard the “Omarosa tapes”

Former Trump aide Omarosa Manigault Newman secretly recorded conversations with President Trump during her tenure in the White House, The Daily Beast reported on Wednesday.

Manigault Newman left her job as the Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison in December, after nearly 15 years as a member of Trump’s inner circle. She first made a name for herself on Trump’s reality show “The Apprentice” and went on to become a staffer for the president.

One person confirmed to the Daily Beast that they had heard at least one of her recordings featuring Trump, while multiple sources familiar with the so-called “Omarosa tapes” described the recorded conversations between Trump and Manigault as everyday chatter.

According to The Daily Beast, Manigault Newman leveraged these conversations while shopping her “tell-all” book titled “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House,” which is set to hit  shelves on Aug. 14.

Manigault Newman and her representatives did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.

The report drew immediate reaction from Twitter users, many of whom appeared to find it ironic that Trump was recorded by Manigault Newman as well as his lawyer Michael Cohen, both long-time members of the Trump inner circle.
