Oprah Lands 1st TV Interview with Discovery Channel Hostages

Talk show host will have channel employees on her show this Thursday

In her final season before launching her own network, Oprah Winfrey continues to land big guests.

The talk show queen has snagged the first interview with hostages held inside the Discovery Channel headquarters two weeks ago by gunman James J. Lee. The hostages will be guests on her show this Thursday, Winfrey announced on her website on Tuesday.

Lee was killed by police after an hours-long standoff at Discovery's Silver Spring, Maryland headquarters. He was a radical environmentalist and aspiring TV writer obsessed with the Daniel Quinn novel "Ishmael."

Among Lee’s three hostages were a security guard and two of the cable company’s employees. Winfrey did not specify if all of the three would appear on the show.
