‘Outlander’: Claire and Jamie Clash With the British in Season 4 Trailer (Video)

The American Revolution is brewing

Claire Fraser is determined to be on the right side of history.

In the new Season 4 trailer for Starz’s “Outlander,” Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heugan) arrive in North Carolina, but find it difficult to negotiate loyalty to the British ruling class — who own slaves — especially since Claire knows the American Revolution is on its way.

“I don’t agree with keeping people as property,” Claire tells their host. Jamie decides they must leave the comfort of the British’s hospitality and the couple rough in it the back country, trying to start a new life for themselves.

Meanwhile, in the 20th century, Claire and Jamie’s daughter Brianna is dealing with her own complicated relationship with historian Roger Wakefield. But as the two investigate, they come across a shocking discovery that makes them consider following in Claire’s footsteps.

Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Matthew B. Roberts and Andy Harries executive produce the series, which is based on the eight-book “Outlander” series by Diana Gabaldon. “Outlander” is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Starz recently renewed “Outlander” for Seasons 5 and 6, which will be based off Gabaldon’s novels “The Fiery Cross” and “A Breath of Snow and Ashes,” respectively.
