OWN Doubles Tyler Perry’s ‘Love Thy Neighbor’ Episode Order

OWN also orders additional episodes of Perry's "The Haves and the Have Nots"

OWN is doubling down on Tyler Perry's comedy "Love Thy Neighbor."

The network has ordered an addition 26 episodes of the series, OWN said Wednesday.

The additional episodes of the series, which airs Wednesdays at 9 and 9:30 p.m. on OWN, brings the total number of episodes to 52.

The original run will end with a two-episode finale Wednesday night, with the new episodes premiering in January. In the meantime, Perry's other OWN sitcom "For Better or Worse" will occupy the timeslot starting Sept. 18.

Since its May 29 premiere, "Love Thy Neighbor" — which is set in a family-run diner and stars Patrice Lovely as the family matriarch juggling business and family drama — has averaged more than 1 million total viewers, scoring a .88 rating among women 25-54.

OWN has also ordered four more episodes of Perry's drama "The Haves and the Have Nots," after ordering 16 more episodes in June, bringing the first-season episode order up to 36. The series premiered as OWN's highest-rated series debut in May, attracting 1.77 million total viewers. The show has climbed from there, drawing its best performance yet in the women 25-54 demographic — a 1.76 rating — with its most recent airing Aug 20.
