Parade Taps Yahoo Executive as New Publisher

Yahoo executive Wayne Powers will join Parade magazine as its publisher

Parade Publications named Wayne Powers president and publisher of the magazine group, the company announced Monday.

Powers, a Yahoo executive, will oversee the advertising sales and marketing efforts and lead the company's digital and print properties toward growth.

Parade poached Powers, left,  from Yahoo, where he had been serving as senior vice president of North American sales since November 2010.

"We are thrilled that Wayne will be joining us," CEO Jack Haire said in a statement. “He is a great leader and a proven innovator, with a tremendous background in print and digital advertising.”

At Yahoo, Powers oversaw display and search sales, marketing and account management. Before joining the tech company, he spent 12 years at the Time Inc. division of Time Warner, serving as president of the Time Inc. Media Group.

He has a degree in marketing from Ohio State University.
