Paramount Pictures named two new executive vice presidents of business affairs Thursday, hiring Jean Chi from indie A24, and promoting David Miercort.

Chi will oversee business affairs for Paramount Pictures, while Miercort will focus on Paramount Animation. Both will report to Paramount Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Motion Picture Business and Legal Affairs Stephen Plum.

It is Chi’s second stint at Paramount, where she served as Senior Attorney, Legal Affairs for Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Motion Picture Group between 2005 and 2008. Prior to rejoining the studio, she was A24’s Head of Content Planning and Business Affairs, where she was in charge of content strategy and dealmaking across all business divisions for the “Moonlight” studio. Prior to that, Chi held executive roles at Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment.

“Jean is a dynamic and strategic business affairs executive with deep knowledge of the ever-changing aspects of the industry,” Plum said in a statement announcing the moves. “Along with David’s valued expertise and focus on Animation we have a very strong team in place.”

“Paramount Pictures is an incredible studio with an exciting future,” Chi said in the statement. “I am energized by the opportunity to return to the lot and work with Stephen and his talented team.”
