Paul Feig to Produce Movie Musical for 20th Century Fox

Details of the pitch, which hails from Yana Gorskaya and Maia Rossini, are being kept under wraps

20th Century Fox has acquired a pitch for a new musical that will be produced by Paul Feig‘s Feigco Entertainment banner.

Details of the pitch, which hails from Yana Gorskaya and Maia Rossini, are being kept under wraps, though the film will feature an ensemble cast.

Feig and Jessie Henderson are producing the untitled movie, which is based on Feig’s original idea.

Gorskaya is a well-respected editor who cut “Celeste and Jesse Forever” and the Oscar-nominated documentary “Spellbound.” Rossini is a novelist and short story writer. The duo have been best friends and collaborators since grade school.

Feig’s next project is the comedy “Spy” starring Melissa McCarthy, which will be the “Bridesmaids” star’s third collaboration with Feig after “The Heat.” Feig will write, direct and produce the film via Feigco Entertainment, which has a first-look deal with Fox.

Feigco specializes in developing edgy and commercial R-rated comedies with an emphasis on strong female lead characters. Other projects the company is developing including a “Heat” spin-off starring Jamie Denbo and Jessica Chaffin and an untitled comedy for a group of ethnically diverse comic actresses that Melissa Stack will write, based on an original idea by Feig.

Gorskaya and Rossini are represented by Michelle Knudsen & Mason Novick at MXN Entertainment, attorneys Karl Austen and Michael Auerbach and CAA, which also reps Feig.
