The one-hour performance and interview special will air Wednesday, June 12th at 11:30 p.m.

Paul McCartney is joining the world's biggest Republican (character) for a special musical edition of “The Colbert Report” Wednesday, June 12th, according to Comedy Central.

“The Colbert Report” will welcome the former Beatle for the show's second ever one-hour music special at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT next week. The show will include an interview with McCartney as well as musical performance.

“I think this McCartney kid’s got something special and I’m gonna put him on the map!” Colbert joked.

The set will include songs featured on McCartney’s Out There Tour, the “Wings Over America” 2013 Reissue, and one song that will be available only at the show’s homepage.

The special will mark McCartney’s second appearance on the Comedy Central show, but first musical performance. In 2009 the rock legend appeared in a “Better Know a Beatle” segment.

“The Colbert Report” previously devoted an hour to Radiohead in 2011.
