Paul Qui has apparently found a recipe for disaster. At least, if the details surrounding his arrest over the weekend turn out to be accurate.

Qui, the Season 9 winner of “Top Chef,” was arrested Saturday by the Austin Police Department for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, People reports.

Citing an affidavit, People said that officers responded to a disturbance shortly before 8 a.m. local time in Austin, Texas, on Saturday to find Qui sporting “blood all over his face, arms, legs and clothing” and his girlfriend crying while holding her son.

The girlfriend said that the “Top Chef” winner was partying with friends at the residence with booze, cocaine Xanax and pot. According to the girlfriend, she was sleeping when the party kicked off and was asked to join the group. She agreed, but things got nasty, she claims, when a loaded Qui became jealous, accusing his friends of flirting with her and attempting to talk her into having group sex. Qui allegedly tossed his friends out and “became enraged and starting knocking over furniture” the arrest affidavit said, according to People.

Qui allegedly prevented his girlfriend from leaving with her son and pushed them away from the door before throwing her against the walls and doors.

According to police the girlfriend had a cut on her forearm and bruising, and had a “slightly puffy and swollen” jaw.

Qui allegedly admitted to preventing his girlfriend from leaving, so that she would be there when the police showed up so that he could present his version of events.

Bravo’s “Top Chef” alum was charged with unlawful restraint and assault causing bodily injury to a family member, and released on $20,000 bond.
