‘Martha Stewart’s Cooking School’ Show Coming to PBS

Stewart’s weekly “culinary master class” will debut in the fall

Domestic doyenne Martha Stewart will launch a weekly PBS TV series, "Martha Stewart's Cooking School," this fall.

The 2008 book "Martha Stewart's Cooking School" is a bestseller, but the lifestyle guru will provide step-by-step video lessons in the new, 30-minute series, which will focus on basic and classic cooking techniques.

Stewart will show how to select the best ingredients, make the perfect pot roast, pan sauté a whole fish and make stocks, soups and sauces.

"PBS is the perfect home for this series," Stewart said in a statement. "This new series combines so many of my passions: teaching and encouraging others. We will break down classic recipes for home cooks and inspire them to add their unique twist. I'm excited to get
into the kitchen and connect with audiences across the nation."

"Martha Stewart's Cooking School" will be presented by PBS station WETA in Washington, D.C., and will air on PBS stations nationwide.

Stewart will get more airtime — as an actress — next month, when she plays a private school headmaster on NBC's "Law & Order: SVU."
