Penn & Teller to Nuke Las Vegas for Halloween

Twisted illusionists Penn & Teller to offer a post-apocalyptic version of Las Vegas at Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights

Trick or treat? When it comes to Penn & Teller, you're bound to get a little bit of both.

The Illusionists are lending their twisted talents to the Universal Orlando resort this Halloween, creating a 3D haunted house that will deliver "the lights and allure of Las Vegas … with a toxic twist," Universal Orlando said Friday.

The attraction, dubbed "Penn & Teller New(kd) Las Vegas," is part of Universal's Halloween Horror Nights event this years.

"New(kd) Las Vegas" will present "a dark, dilapidated and radioactive version of 'Sin City,' as if one of their magic tricks has gone terribly awry and the city has been covered in nuclear ooze," Universal Orlando said of the display, which will take Vegas staples such as showgirls, slot machines and an all-you-can-eat buffet, "all glowing with a toxic green hue."

“Universal Horror Nights can scare the living Elvis out of you, and me & Teller, well, we've been known to take things a bit too far," Penn Jillette said, speaking on behalf of himself and his silent partner, Raymond Teller. "Now we're working together on showing you what it would be like to live in a post-nuclear explosion Sin City."

Sounds like it just might be the bomb.

Halloween Horror Nights runs Sept. 21 to Oct. 31.
