With six nominations, Jordan Peele’s third feature, “Nope,” scored the most nods in the People’s Choice Awards film categories. It was recognized as Movie of 2022 and Drama of 2022, while stars Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer snagged two nods apiece. “Nope” was followed by “Bullet Train,” “Top Gun: Maverick” and “The Adam Project,” all tying for five each.
On the TV side, “This Is Us” led with six nominations. “Abbott Elementary” and “Grey’s Anatomy” tied with four.
No entertainer or project scored more nominations than Bad Bunny, with seven nods: Male Artist of 2022, Song of 2022 (“Me Porto Bonito”) Album of 2022 (“Un Verano Sin Ti”), Latin Artist of 2022, Collaboration Song of 2022 (“Party,” Rauw Alejandro), Concert Tour of 2022 and Social Celebrity of 2022.
Bad Bunny was followed by musician and “Don’t Worry Darling” star Harry Styles, who scored six nominations Wednesday morning: Drama Movie Star of 2022, Male Artist of 2022, Song of 2022 (“As it Was”), Album of 2022 (“Harry’s House), Music Video of 2022 (“As it Was”) and Concert Tour of 2022.
Lizzo also did well individually. She was nominated for Competition Show of 2022 (for her Emmy-winning “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls”), Female Artist of 2022, Song of 2022 (“About Damn Time”), Album of 2022 (“Special”) and Social Celebrity of 2022.
Voting for the awards, which cross all forms of entertainment and are decided entirely by the public, begins today and runs through Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Fans can vote online or via Twitter. For those who abide by the “vote early and often” ethos, there is also Turbo Tuesday coming up Nov. 1, where all votes cast that day will count twice, equaling up to a maximum of 50 votes per day, per category, per voting method.
Earlier this morning, NBC and E! announced that Kenan Thompson would be returning as host of the show, which will air on Tuesday, December 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
