“Game of Thrones” actor Peter Dinklage is in early talks for a role in Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” TheWrap has learned.

It’s unclear what role he’d play in “Infinity War,” which brother directors Joe and Anthony Russo aim to begin shooting this summer for release on May 4, 2018.

The actor recently wrapped production on the seventh season of the HBO fantasy drama, on which he plays crafty Tyrion Lannister.

Plot details are unknown, other than Marvel’s mightiest superheroes returning to face their greatest challenge as a team against the titan Thanos (voiced by Josh Brolin).

After directing the last two installments in the “Captain America” series, Anthony and Joe Russo now take over the reins of directing the “Avengers” films, with the previous two installments directed by Joss Whedon.

Production is expected to start this month on “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Outside of “Game of Thrones,” Dinklage recently appeared in Universal’s “The Boss” starring Melissa McCarthy.

Dinklage is no stranger to superhero movies either, as the actor previously starred as Boliver Trask in Fox’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” His breakout role was in the highly acclaimed comedy-drama “The Station Agent” in 2003.

“Avengers: Infinity War” would be Dinklage’s first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe of films.

Dinklage is repped by CAA.

Marvel had no comment on the casting new, Variety was the first report it.
