Watch Pink Get Political in ‘What About Us’ (Video)

The singer’s video seems to take a few cues from “V for Vendetta”

Pink’s latest music video for her new song, “What About Us,” makes a political statement that’s both powerful and timely.

In it, the pop star sings about “waking up” and fighting injustice amid images of police cars, search lights, and people drowning in despair.

A clip of New Jersey governor Chris Christie’s National Convention ahead of Trump’s appearance speech plays at the start of the video, while a different male voice proclaims, “We are going to reject hate! We are going to reject racism!”

This, plus the “V for Vendetta”-esque imagery paints a stark picture of division and frustration that mirrors the current political landscape.

Pink is one of many musicians to use her platform to speak out against the current political climate. In June, Moby released a video for his song, “In This Cold Place,” in which a Trump-like figure wreaks havoc upon a city.

“What About Us” will be featured on Pink‘s upcoming album, called “Beautiful Trauma,” which the singer announced Wednesday morning via Instagram.
